Add the Flexor Digiti Minimi muscles.


Origin - Base of the 5th metatarsal

Insertion - Lateral side of the base of the proximal phalanx of the little toe

Innervation - Lateral plantar (S2,S3)

Action - Flexes the MTP joint of the little toe


Add the Adductor Hallicus muscles.


Origin - Two heads: transverse and oblique

Transverse; deep transverse metatrsal ligaments of the toes

Oblique; base of the 2, 3, 4 metatarsal bones

Insertion - Common tendon to the base of the lateral aspect of the great toe

Innervation - Lateral plantar (S2,S3)

Action - Adducts the first digit (great toe); assists in maintaing transverse arch of the foot


Add the Fexor Hallicus Bevis muscles.


Origin - Plantar surface of the cuboid, lateral 1/3 of the cuneiform bones

Insertion - By two tendons onto the sides of the base of the proximal phalanx of the great toe

Innervation - Medial plantar (S2,S3)

Action - Flexes the proximal phalanx of the great toe at the 1st MTP joint
